connect, and feel supported

Solihull Moors Foundation is committed to supporting foster families across our community. Our weekly sessions at The Gig in Acocks Green (Rear of 32, B27 6DN) are designed to provide a welcoming, safe space where foster families can come together, connect, and feel supported.

These sessions offer children and young people the chance to have fun, try new activities, and build confidence — while giving carers the opportunity to relax, share experiences, and access practical support.

Who It’s For

Foster families and looked-after children across Solihull, Birmingham, and the surrounding areas. The programme includes:

  • A safe, inclusive environment led by experienced staff
  • Fun, engaging activities for children and young people
  • Peer connection and positive social experiences
  • Support, advice, and community for foster carers
  • Access to signposting, guidance, and follow-up support from the Foundation

Impact

These sessions have become a lifeline for many foster families — offering a consistent, trusted space that builds confidence, connection, and community. Children who once struggled socially now look forward to attending each week, and carers report feeling less isolated and more supported.

“The sessions at The Gig have been a game-changer for us. It’s the one place where we all feel completely understood and welcomed — the kids love it, and so do we.”

– Carer

“It’s fun here. I’ve made friends and the staff are really kind. I don’t feel different anymore.”

– Young Person
